Jason Leon: There is always hope even when you're hanging on by a thread of "Rope" [Premiere]

To Jason Leon, music is the heartbeat of humanity. That's why his goal as a singer-songwriter is to write songs of hope based on his own personal experiences. Through stories of heartbreak and triumph, Leon wants to inspire his listener, or at least create a groove they can dance to. In 2019, Leon was a finalist in the 14th season of America's Got Talent. He is also an Army veteran and phD student in psychology. Currently, his song "Rope" has accumulated over one thousand streams on Spotify alone.

On "Rope", Leon explained:

"The song came from thoughts about people, including myself, hanging in there by what seems to be a thread of rope. We hold on because we want to believe that someday things will get better. Hope gives us the strength to move on. I felt that it was time to release this song into the world and inspire people to keep believing and hanging on to hope."

Leon said his Hip Hop-R&B track was produced by Grammy-nominated producer Joshua Lay. The song is filled with RnB drums, synthesizers and a heavy base tone to "give it that Hip Hop feel," he said. "Rope" was also remade twice, once to add a rap verse in the bridge, and another to remix the song for Pop.

"In the rap version, the bridge is split, so it only I only do half of the bridge, and then it goes directly into the rap. And then the other version, which is the actual official remix, has the has the vocals, the full bridge and the full rap. So I wanted it to be a universal song that could be played anywhere.

Leon has upcoming music to be released before the end of the year.
